Wang, Hartmann, Gibbs & Cauley, PC is currently looking for an IP Legal Research Analyst to assist in our Intellectual Property department. This position will require extensive education and experience in the areas of Intellectual Property (IP) and E-Commerce. The IP Legal Research Analyst will work closely alongside WHGC IP attorneys by assisting with overseas and domestic filings.
The job duties will reflect the following:
- Conduct legal research on specific issues for IP matters by locating, gathering, compiling and organizing data;
- Correspond with clients for data collection, progress updates, and investigation in preparation for filing international patent and trademark filings;
- Help manage foreign counsel in trademark and other IP litigation and utility findings;
- Analyze and review correspondence from the USPTO and foreign associates for deadline information. Communicate all deadline information to all parties involved;
- Work with 34 other firms worldwide to coordinate IP filing guidelines;
- Prepare instructions to foreign associates for the preparation and filing processes for IP cases;
- Understand how to file, how to litigate and how to involve US courts in IP litigation matters;
- Remain abreast of current IP related litigation rules, laws and procedures in other countries;
- Conduct factual research in legal data banks, Lexis Nexis, on the internet and in government records; and
- Coordinate timely filing responses with the USPTO and foreign patent filing offices corresponding with foreign patent agents.
Job Requirements
- Master of Laws degree; and
- Five (5) years of related working experience.

Executive Assistant Job Opening
We currently have an opening for an Executive Assistant position at our Mountain View, CA office. This position will report to the managing partners and will require some travel to the Southern California headquarters.
JOB DUTIES:
- Work with 30+ affiliated law firms across the world to obtain cases status, coordinate details and manage cases;
- Delegate duties and responsibilities to the paralegal staff;
- Contacts clients, attorneys, and courts for resolution of outstanding issues, further instructions, status updates, and additional information and documentation;
- Generate weekly individual case status reports to appropriate attorneys and supervisors;
- Oversee the preparation and assembly of evidence exhibits and other materials used in legal proceedings.
- Analyze statues, cases, and regulations and summarize them for supervising attorney;
- Forwards accounts to out of town counsel and serves as liaison between client and attorney;
- Conduct legal research on specific issues for litigation matters by locating, gathering, compiling and organizing data and complete assigned special projects by drafting legal briefs, pleadings and other documents for attorney review; and
- Work with foreign counsel, local counsel and co-counsel to coordinate status of cases and update WHGC staff and clients.

- Two (2) years of related working experience.
